Ok, I updated the post from this morning - it's pretty mechanical, I'll try not to sleep in tomorrow and add some more flavor to the next post! There's also a new map with the goblins numbered and lettered, so you can be clear on which goblin you are attacking. (edited)

FYI, the rules specify when anyone reaches 0 hp, they are dead. Because characters die so easily with these older rules, many DMs have a house rule that 0 hp results in unconsciousness instead, with some number of negative hp resulting in death. The rule I usually use is when you get to -Constitution score, so for Blackjack, that will be at -10 hp. An enemy will automatically hit an unconscious individual if they attempt it, so if you want to save Blackjack's life, distract those other goblins! Amethist can cast one Cure Light Wounds spell per day, which restores 1d6+1 hp, but she will need to touch Blackjack with her hands uninterrupted, meaning a goblin can't be attacking her while she casts the spell.

Initiative rolls really helped you out this time, Goblins A and B would have hit (one with a natural 20), if you hadn't hit and killed them first. Hang in there @Tygame88 Blackjack! @scigrrl Amethist should be able to heal you next round.

Running combat takes a lot longer than the ten minutes a day I was trying to dedicate to this, but I think I have a system down now. I haven’t been writing out the hp of damage that each of you are dealing out on the goblins, because I figure you can all see your own dice rolls, but I can change that if you want (edited)

I don't mind. Whatever makes it easier for you.

If we rearrange our characters positions, we could surround the goblins as they come out the door allowing us more melee attacks.

In all seriousness, though, I don't think it's a great idea, because then more goblins could jump in the fight and overwhelm us. There would be a gap between Hagar and Whisper where the goblins could get past us.

Right now you have the two characters with the best AC blocking the door, they have to roll a 19 or 20 to hit Angar! You are protecting those with worse AC. One of the reasons Blackjack was knocked unconscious so easily is he was facing 2 goblins unopposed. Also, note that if the goblins had bows and arrows or other missile weapons, you would have seen them using them by now. This way you are limiting their attack.

Okay, no worries. I thought I’d suggest it as an option. We can stick to our current positions.

How close do I need to be to hit with a sling?

You get a +1 to hit up to 40', and a -1 to hit 80' to 160', so you are well within range

It's a shame you won't get to use them. The initiative rolls again, Steve and the goblin both rolled a 6, so the battle ends before Amethist gets to do anything.

Can I heal myself?

Normally yes, but at Level 1, you can only cast one spell per day. So since you've already healed Blackjack, you can't cast any more spells today.

So we're getting close to wrapping up this short adventure (that we started a month ago!), I’m wondering where you all want to go from here. As I see it, we have a few options: 1. Finish up, this was a fun experiment, but we’re done. 2. Continue with these characters, in the fan-created expanded version of this dungeon. 3. Play a new game. If #3, I have a few modules I’ve considered that I could prepare: With the first 4, you could continue with your current characters if you wish, or start with new 1st level characters:

The Palace of the Silver Princess - Explore a cursed castle and attempt to restore a land frozen in time. We would play the rare “Orange Cover” version that TSR recalled back from the printers the same day it was released, and destroyed almost all of the original copies in 1980, due to questionable content and the “Satanic Panic” going on at the time.
The Lost City - Lost in the desert, take refuge in a half-buried pyramid, and discover a lost city underneath it, with different factions engaged in a struggle for power. Ranked 28th of the 30 best adventures of all time by Dungeon Magazine in 2004.
Horror on the Hill - Invade caverns in a hill that are full of monsters in an effort to end the monster raids into a nearby town.
Rahasia - An elven temple is taken over by an evil cleric who has kidnapped some of the local elven tribe. Venture into the temple to confront him, and find and return the kidnapped elves to their families.

With these 3, you’d have to abandon your current characters, because the modules are for characters of higher level:

The Dark Tower (Judge’s Guild, levels 7-11) - Explore the ruins of a buried town and two buried towers. Interact with various antagonistic factions, including the minions of the serpent-demon Set and Mitra, a god of Law and Goodness. Ranked 21st of the 30 best adventures of all time by Dungeon Magazine in 2004.
The Tomb of Horrors (levels 10-14) - Gary Gygax’s attempt to create the deadliest dungeon ever (also featured in the book Ready Player One) - Enter the tomb of the demilich Acererak. Battle your way past a variety of monsters and traps, with the ultimate goal of finding and destroying Acererak. Just plan on everyone dying . Ranked 3rd of the 30 best adventures of all time by Dungeon Magazine in 2004.
Expedition to the Barrier Peaks (levels 8-12) - The local duke has hired you to investigate a cave in the mountains, from which a succession of really odd monsters have been emerging. A groundbreaking adventure unlike any others when first released in 1976, written by Gary Gygax. Ranked 5th of the 30 best adventures of all time by Dungeon Magazine in 2004. Thoughts?

I’d probably want to take a break after finishing it. If you do another maybe I could observe it still? I know during summer I’ve got a lot of projects going on.

I’ve been on Mother’s Day things this morning, I’ll try to run the morning’s combat here in a little bit.

I did not do one, since no one had stated that they’d moved, and the 2 hobgoblins were just killed.
